Tech Tidbit of the day: While trying to upload a video to Youtube with Google Chrome, I ran into a problem where the rest of my internet would completely crawl to a stop.. The Youtube upload was only consuming 2.3MB/s of my 5.6MB/s total available upload bandwidth.
I wasn’t as concerned with the slower-than-expected upload speeds, but more concerned with the fact NONE of my devices on the network could access anything on the Internet while that upload was running… It just didn’t make sense..
Just for fun (after much other troubleshooting) I decided to try uploading using Firefox instead of Chrome… Sure nuff, the upload was going much faster, and the rest of my network was still very fast… So, after some Googling, I ran across a similar issue….this code resolved the problem for me!! Woohoo!
1. Please close Chrome
2. Delete the folder named “User Data” in the location %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome
3. Relaunch Chrome and enjoy.
